We sure are having fun cooking Asian style.  The 2 most exciting aspects of our Asian dishes so far — they are inexpensive and they are delicious!  Tonight’s dinner consisted of fried spring rolls (complete with sweet and sour sauce made from scratch) and egg drop soup.  Had we closed our eyes and eaten, we would have sworn we were eating at a Chinese restaurant.  If you like cooking with out of the ordinary ingredients but haven’t made it to the Asian store in your area (ours is in Cary), then you should definitely make a point of going.  It’s one of our favorite places to grocery shop.

Mmm, spring rolls. What’s your recipe??

Hi Abbie, thanks for reading our blog!
Our recipe is to stuff them whatever we have on hand. For this time, we stuffed them with Bok Choy, rice noodles, some leftover meatloaf, and some sauteed veggies. Wrap them in the pre-made spring roll wrappers and pop in the deep fryer.

The sweet and sour sauce has chili sauce, pineapple juice, ketchup, and a few other things. We found it on cooks.com.
