Invercargill, NZ
This morning we went to church at Invercargill Central Baptist Church. The church service was nice and we enjoyed worshiping with local Kiwis. After the service we talked with some of the church members and they were kind enough to invite us to their house for lunch. We enjoyed a delicious lunch at Grant, Fiona, and Olivia’s house and even were treated to some of their daughter’s wedding fruitcake. We were very eager to ask lots of questions about Kiwi culture and life in New Zealand and they didn’t seem to mind answering our seemlessly unending questions. After several hours of hanging out at their house Fiona and Olivia took us on a tour of Invercargill and dropped us off at the museum where we caught a concert by a NZ folk band, Bellebird & the Handsome Gypsies. The band members were very talented and would switch back and forth between instruments. We loved how they used so many different types of instruments in their music such guitars, tamborines, drums, kazoos, and accordians.
